HANNAIK, aware of the technological innovations of the market and conscious of changes of the European norms related to generator sets, hereby disclose the following notice:
The European Standard on Environmental Emissions for generator sets has recently been amended.
Firstly, it is necessary to differentiate between stationary generator sets and mobile generator sets. The first ones correspond to the generator groups of rental fleets and the second ones are the generators on a trailer.
Within the European Union, as of January 1, 2019, all engines of more than 130 kW and less than 56 kW, that are installed in mobile generator sets, they should comply with Phase V (5) of the Environmental Emissions. This phase imposes maximum limits of nitrogen oxide (NOx), airborne particles (PM), non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC), as well as establish particle limit values per kWh (PN).
The power range between 56kW and 130kW, should comply with Phase V, as of 01/01/2020. Until then, Phase IIIA remains in force.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, there is a transitional period of two years, until December, 31, 2021, in which mobile generator sets may be fitted with Phase IIIA engines, provided that these engines were manufactured before 31/12/12, 2019.
The technology that engine manufacturers have to use at this point in order to comply with the Environmental Emissions Standard is expensive and complex, which implies an increase of the engines, as well as a greater space and complexity for the integration of the same, in the generator sets.
So far, the European Union has no established Environmental Emissions Standard for stationary applications in our power ranges.
